A. DOWNLOADING SEMI STANDARDS

1. How do I register for a Standards package?

Order a Standards Web Download Package.
After your order is processed, you will receive an e-mail requesting you to register with SEMI.org.
You must complete a new SEMI.org Registration form for this package, using a DIFFERENT username and password from other SEMI registration.
Complete a new registration form, creating a NEW USER ID and PASSWORD Payment Method - select PRE-PAID PACKAGE from the drop down menu. Skip credit card type and number fields. The expiration date and package ID will be included in your e-mail instructions.
Do not attempt to download until you are notified by e-mail that the registration is authorized.

2. What is my password for downloading SEMI Standards?

You will create your own username and password when you complete the online registration form.
Each individual must register with their own username and password. Companies are not given passwords. Do not attempt to download until you are notified by e-mail that the registration is authorized.
If you have forgotten your username and password, please e-mail customerservice@semi.org SEMI will respond with your username and password. Do NOT register a second time. Duplicate registrations deny all download authorization.

3. Are drafts of Standards available?

Only SEMI published Standards are available for purchase. However, draft documents in process are available to Standards voting members. To find a current listing of draft documents in process, click on SEMI International Standards from the homepage, and then click on Document Status next to the Current Committee Activity icon.

4. How do I find a description of a Standard?

Click here and scroll down to the list of topics from Equipment Automation Hardware to Traceability. Click on the appropriate topic to see the list of Standards (Some lists are more than one page). Click on the Standard to review the abstract.

5. Where can I find clean room Standards?

Clean room Standards are published by IEST (www.iest.org).

6. How do I download Standards?

Single Standards can be downloaded for $50 per standard. If you need more than one Standard, check SEMI’s Standards Web Download Packages at reduced prices.
To download a single Standard, go to the address above. Scroll down to a list of topics from Equipment Automation Hardware to Traceability. Click on the appropriate topic to see the list of Standards (some lists are more than one page). Click on the Standard to review an abstract. Click on the icon to download. (You must register online with SEMI). Enter your username and password, click OK. Right-Click here, then select Save Link As...or Save Target As..., to save the pdf to your hard drive. Be sure the file name ends in .pdf.

7. How do I know when a Standard has been revised?

SEMI Standards are numbered sequentially as they are developed and approved. The last two or four digits of denote the year or the month and year when the latest revisions were made. SEMI Standards were first labeled with only the year of the revision, for example SEMI C13-95, now they are labeled with the month and year of the revision, for example SEMI C10-0299 was last revised in February of 1999.
Newly revised Standards are posted to the web listings immediately upon approval. SEMI publishes new CD-ROMS three times per year, March, July, and November. (An annual subscription may be ordered at the SEMI.org store.

8. When will I receive a receipt for Standards and/or Technical Paper downloads?

Monthly statements for all downloads are mailed in the first week of the next month.

9. How can I notify SEMI about download problems?

If you have any download problems or have downloaded the same Standard more than once, please notify SEMI Customer Service at 408.943.6901 or customerservice@semi.org immediately to be sure your charges are corrected.

B. Register, Login and Site Help

1. Why do I need to login to www.semi.org?

Registering and logging in to www.semi.org eases your experience on www.semi.org. Logging in and registering is not required to visit www.semi.org, but by registering and completing a profile on www.semi.org you will receive features that would be unavailable if you don’t login in.

2. How can I print a page from semi.org?

When you are on the page you want to print, choose “Print this page” from the bottom of the page. A new window will open that displays just the content you need to print. From the “File” menu in your web browser, choose, “Print” to print your selected page.

3. How can I view web pages on www.semi.org in a different language?

Some of the content on www.semi.org is available in multiple languages. You can switch from viewing content in English to other languages by selecting the language of your choice in the “Choose your language” menu in the upper right hand navigation. Not all content is directly translated, however. Instead, content is available from specific regions is displayed when you visit the site.
This site has been designed to automatically detect the language of the content that will be displayed in two ways. First, the site determines the language setting for your browser and displays content appropriately. Second, if you are logged in and have chosen a preferred language in your profile, the content will be displayed in that language. This second setting overrides the first setting. If there is no content available for your chosen language, the site will display the English content for that area. SEMI regional pages are available in a pull down menu on the very upper right hand side.

4. Search

If you cannot find content you are looking for on www.semi.org, use the available Search options. When conducting a general search for content on the site, use the available search box, type in your search request, and then select “Find.” Your search results will be displayed on the next page. When searching for information on SEMI Members, select, “Search Members” to search our membership database. When searching for specific SEMI Standards information, click on “Search Standards” and fill out the appropriate form to complete your search.

6. What is the difference between SEMI and SEMICON?

The easiest way to explain the difference between SEMI and SEMICON is to say SEMI is the company and SEMICON is one of their products. SEMI is the global trade association that represents the semiconductor and flat panel industry. SEMICON is the official name for the exposition product of SEMI. Hence, the name SEMI and CON (con for convention).

7. SEMI MEMBERSHIP: How do I change company membership information?

Search for your company profile. Make corrections, sign, and fax to SEMI Customer Service at 408.943.7919.
SEMI will request verification of all changes from the primary contact for the corporate membership. These company profiles are updated on this website during the first week of each month.

8. How do I register for SEMI events?

Go to the SEMI calendar. Click on the event and scroll down to the registration form. Register online or fax your registration to the number provided on the online form. Contact names are provided on the web page. Your registration will be processed within 3-5 days and you will receive a confirmation and receipt by fax. Please note SEMI’s cancellation and refund policies.
If a registration form is not available for an event, please check again at a later date.

9. How do I make hotel reservations for SEMI events?

SEMI reserves blocks of rooms for expositions and conferences for most regional events, but you need to make your own reservations. For information and availability, please see the home page of the exposition you would like to make reservation for or visit the SEMI.org registration page.
For events taking place at SEMI San Jose (Silicon Valley), a list of hotels near SEMI headquarters is available. Please call SEMI Customer Service at 408.943.6901 with your fax number to receive a copy.
In all cases, hotels fill quickly. Please make your reservations well in advance of any SEMI event.

10. How can I exhibit at a SEMI exposition?

Exhibiting companies must be manufacturers, or independent representatives of manufacturers, which produce equipment or materials or provide direct services to the process of designing or manufacturing semiconductor devices and/or semiconductor related systems. SEMI reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any product for display. Exhibit space is available to SEMI corporate members and qualifying non-members on a "space available" basis only and is subject to SEMI's Stipulations for Exhibit Space. Exhibit space is allotted by a priority point system and SEMI members receive priority over non-members. Wait lists may exist for SEMI corporate members and non-members. (Additional terms and conditions may apply.)

Please provide all the following information to SEMI's Expositions Department by email: semiexpositions@semi.org or fax:1.408.943.7953.

    • Your contact information: name, mailing address, email, phone, fax;
    • Your company's name and SEMI corporate membership number (if applicable);
    • The total amount of exhibit space (square feet or meters) requested;
    • A complete description of the semiconductor related products, supplies, or services your company would exhibit; and
    • Your company's web site address.

If your company is a confirmed exhibitor at any SEMI exposition, you will automatically receive an application for next year's exposition, approximately seven months prior to the event.

11. How can I receive free admission to SEMI expositions?

To receive a registration form for free entrance to SEMI expositions (exhibits only), please email SEMI Customer Service (customerservice@semi.org) or call 1.408.943.6901. Preview upcoming SEMI expositions by visiting the Events section of www.semi.org.

12. How do I order SEMI products?

You can order online or phone SEMI Customer Service at 408.943.6901 to receive an order form or invoice by fax.

13. What purchase order terms are available for SEMI products?

SEMI does not offer terms. Payment is required prior to shipping.

14. How do I subscribe to Semiconductor Manufacturing Magazine?
